Becky Brown’s Dark Parts (2020) is a video piece inspired by the perfection and impossible curation of homes that exist only in magazines and the visions of the architects that create them. Brown looks to depict houses before they become homes and connect the viewer to the home as an idea rather than a physical space. Through a suspenseful yet intriguing perspective, Dark Parts displays how homes are just houses and raw buildings in someone else’s plan for no one’s future.
