In his photo series Virtual Reality (2021), Alejandro Landivar examines the effects of technology consumption and dependency. To deliver his message, Landivar uses silver masks on all the human subjects to indicate the theme of anonymity while also drawing a direct parallel to  technological consumption through the obscurity of the computer screens and the subjects’ faces. Landivar’s deliberate use of lighting, positioning, and varying technological devices ultimately demonstrates how the nature of our generation is indeed virtually oriented.
