Using a hybrid of digital and physical media, artist Ryota Matsumoto creates busy, vibrant layers of organically shaped oddities. In Electric Flesh and Anatomical Invention, the biomorphic forms closely resemble the many shapes of cells, spirals and crinkles exploding over the digital canvas. As you lose yourself in the mazes, reflections on ongoing metamorphosis between the digital and physical begin to emerge.

Ryota Matsumoto's bio photo

Ryota Matsumoto is a new media artist, educator and architect based in New York and Tokyo. He received a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2007 after his studies at the Architectural Association in London and Mackintosh School of Architecture, the Glasgow School of Art in the early 90s.
