Anthophrenor Alpha (2025-2026) is a prototypical hypertext game made with Three.js, combining design techniques from electronic literature and video games. Influenced by the works of William Gibson and Richard K. Morgan, Anthophrenor Alpha aims to deliver a thrilling sci-fi mystery experience directly through the web browser.

Set in 2108, the game’s story takes place in River City, a crime-ridden metropolis in what is now Unified America. Murder cases involving elite families are investigated by anthophrenors, a faction of detectives implanted with synthetic mycelia, granting them the ability to perceive fragments of the past. Miles Cavendish, publicly known by the code name Anthophrenor Alpha, is assigned to investigate the killing of an heiress.

This game is a work in progress and will be continually showcased, as its branching narrative structure and the anthophrenors’ concept of time make it a “living story.” The next iterations will expand the story and introduce more character perspectives, improve usability and accessibility, and further experiment with graphics and interactivity. A final version of the game, along with a companion novella, is planned for the near future.
